Tourisme Gaspésie lowers budget due to COVID

Tourisme Gaspésie is lowering its 2020-2021 operating budget due to COVID-19.

Although the summer tourist season surpassed expectations, spring and the second half of the fall season are performing poorly.

The operating budget has been reduced from $ 3.8 million to $ 2.5 million due to the loss of revenue from the lodging tax.

Winter may be good depending on the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourisme Gaspésie held a virtual AGM on Wednesday with three newcomers to the board, which will again be chaired by David Dubreuil from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts.
