Village Allard Christmas parade cancelled

The traditional Christmas parade, which has taken place annually in the Village Allard neighborhood of Nouvelle, will not be held this year because of the pandemic. 

It will be the first time in the fourteen year history of the parade that it will be cancelled.

The organizing committee made the announcement this morning on the event's Facebook page.

"The second wave of COVID-19 is hitting hard and it is important for us to join the collective effort that is currently required of all of us and to put all the chances on our side to reduce the risks of the spread of COVID-19" , wrote the organizers.

The volunteers will begin planning for the 2021 parade immediately.

The organizing committee will present Santa Clause live from the North Pole on Sunday December 13 at 1 PM. Everyone is invited to join in on their Facebook page. More details will be announced soon.
